Effective leaders recognize that the education of English learners is the responsibility of all educators. Creating an inclusive learning community involves valuing the linguistic and sociocultural backgrounds of the school community. This course will explore the asset-based theories of funds of knowledge and translanguaging. Participants will bring their site-collected funds of knowledge interview responses and translanguaging sample to the session. They will learn how these theories are embedded into practice to improve instruction, student engagement, and family support. Participants will use session learnings to develop an instructional strategy professional development session or home visit program for school or district implementation.

Refunds will be issued only to participants who call the ROE seven (7) business days before the start date of the program or if the program is canceled.
