Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) is training for non-mental health professionals on how to recognize and deal with students, parents and co-workers who might be exhibiting symptoms of a mental disorder. YMHFA aligns with ISBE social emotional learning standards and with the readiness and emergency management phase: prevention and mitigation. Just as CPR training helps a lay person without medical training assists an individual who is not breathing, mental health first aid training is designed to give skills necessary for school staff to assist someone experiencing a mental health crisis.

Refunds will be issued only to participants who call the ROE seven (7) business days before the start date of the program or if the program is canceled.
