Google's CS First and Applied Digital Skills

Come join us as we learn about Google's CS First and Applied Digital Skills Curriculum!  Both of these curricular programs are FREE for you to use in your classroom with your students.  In this session, you will learn about the importance of Computer Science for all students and the teachers' role in creating a learning environment that fosters creative problem-solving through peer-to-peer learning.  You'll also get a chance to explore FREE lesson plans, solution sheets, and other educator enrichment resources that are included in the curriculum that is designed for elementary and middle school students.  Together, we will review the CS First Curriculum, test drive a CS First class as both a student and a teacher, and walk away with a plan of action and strategies for starting to teach CS First in your classroom!  Most importantly, teachers who attend this session will be added to the growing community of CS First educators from around the world! After lunch, we will focus on learning about the FREE Applied Digital Skills curricular units that are designed for learner collaboration, addressing student proficiency on the ISTE and Computer Science standards, and building essential digital skills using GSuite Applications.  Google's Applied Digital Skills will help you to help your students gain the digital skills that they can use for a growing number of jobs that require digital literacy!  We will spend this second half of the day learning about this engaging resource, first as a learner and then as an instructor, all the while exploring the possibilities together!
