If you have a child that is struggling with going to school, there are many things that you can do to assist them in getting back to school. Sometimes it may be as easy as having a meeting with a child and a feared teacher to work everything out. Or maybe your child is refusing to even leave home all together.
Jacqueline Rhew served as Assistant Director for seven years for the School Anxiety/School Refusal Program at Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital in Hoffman Estates, a program she was instrumental in creating and developing. Jacqueline provides training both locally and nationally on topics including anxiety, school refusal, parenting and self-injury. She has co-authored several publications including School Refusal in Children & Adolescents and has also been featured on both Chicago ABC 7 and CBS 2 newscasts highlighting her work with adolescents struggling with avoidant school behaviors as well as bullying in the schools.
