AA #1709 - Promoting Parent Engagement for Student Success

This workshop will guide participants to build and maintain effective parent engagement opportunities within their school communities. They will review current challenges that families are facing, learn what research is revealing about the impact of parent engagement on student success, evaluate the school's current efforts at parent engagement, examine the four elements of a holistic approach for parenting, learn research based strategies to maximize the impact of parent meetings and develop a Parent Engagement Action Plan to implement the five Strategic Steps for Success.

Through parent engagement we intend to change the culture of parenting by empowering parents with the tools to help their children succeed, no matter their socioeconomic status or their own educational background, creating a generation of students who are ready and eager to learn, and who set a new highly successful norm for the American education System.
